A time-incremental homogenization method for elasto-viscoplastic particulate composites based on a modified secant formulation

چکیده

Starting from the exact solution of heterogeneous linear viscoelastic Eshelby ellipsoidal inclusion problem obtained in time domain for an embedded isotropic matrix (Berbenni et al., 2015), a direct time-incremental homogenization Mori–Tanaka scheme two-phase non elasto-viscoplastic materials is proposed. The extension to non-linear behavior based on “modified secant” formulation obtain comparison composite (LCC) properties. In contrast with more classic method first moment stresses (i.e. secant formulation), present approach second-order making use Hill’s lemma. Hence, modified viscoplastic compliance considered phase. effective as well evolution laws averaged strains and per phase are directly solved domain, without need Laplace-Carson transforms. estimates provided by model compared full-field calculations literature particulate composites constituted elastic particles, and, radial non-radial loadings.

Finite element formulation for modelling large deformations in elasto-viscoplastic polycrystals

Anisotropic, elasto-viscoplastic behaviour in polycrystalline materials is modelled using a new, updated Lagrangian formulation based on a three-field form of the Hu-Washizu variational principle to create a stable finite element method in the context of nearly incompressible behaviour. The meso-scale is characterized by a representative volume element, which contains grains governed by single ...

Strong-property-fluctuation theory for homogenization of bianisotropic composites: formulation

The strong-property-fluctuation theory is developed for the homogenization of the linear dielectric, magnetic, and magnetoelectric properties of a two-constituent bianisotropic composite. The notion of a bianisotropic comparison medium (BCM) is introduced to serve as a springboard for the Dyson equation satisfied by the ensemble-averaged electromagnetic field. With the constitutive properties o...

A FEM Multiscale Homogenization Procedure using Nanoindentation for High Performance Concrete

This paper aims to develop a numerical multiscale homogenization method for prediction of elasto-viscoplastic properties of a high performance concrete (HPC). The homogenization procedure is separated into two-levels according to the microstructure of the HPC: the mortar or matrix level and the concrete level. The elasto-viscoplastic behavior of individual microstructural phases of the matrix a...

Analysis of adiabatic shear bands in elasto-thermo-viscoplastic materials by modified smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (MSPH) method

We use the modified smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (MSPH) method to analyze shear strain localization in elasto-thermo-viscoplastic materials that exhibit strainand strain-rate hardening and thermal softening. A homogeneous solution of simple shearing deformations of the body is perturbed and the resulting initial-boundary-value problem analyzed by the MSPH method. It is found that the deforma...
